NI Biobank participated in a laboratory tour as part of the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research Open Day on 24th February 2024, which is held as part of the NI Science Festival. The open day was attended by approximately 250 visitors and provided an occasion to engage with the public about the tissue banking in cancer research. Visitors had an opportunity to speak to NIB staff and learn about the consent process and the different types of samples we collect from donors. Our younger visitors even had an opportunity to make their own blood model!
